August is a great month for lingerie, not only do you have the summer sales going on, including ours at Fox and Rose and our sister site Joanna’s Wardrobe (I couldn’t resist the Kiss Me Deadly Divine Girdle), but you also begin to see to the new Autumn/Winter collections appearing in the shops and online. And at Fox and Rose we’re no different. We’ve recently taken delivery of not one, not two but an amazing six new Rosy collections and each one is just to die for.
French lingerie brand Rosy began its life in 1947, the same year Dior created the legendary New Look, and immediately focused on highlighting the female form and enhancing its beautiful silhouette. In 1962 it caused waves across the lingerie and advertising world by revealing their latest campaign where they only featured a tastefully nude woman holding a rose. For the first time in history the actual product was missing from the advert, yet it still pulled in the customers.
Today, Rosy draws on its historical knowledge to create stunning collections in silk and satin, highlighted with lace and embroidery, that clearly have a strong vintage influence and continue to emphasise the female silhouette. They do all this and, of course, make sure each piece is constructed with a modern woman’s needs in mind.
The La Craquante collection is a perfect everyday range and features a cleavage enhancing push-up bra, hipster brief and thong. Each one is beautifully constructed in black stretch satin to give a smooth line underneath your clothes and is highlighted with a sheer black mesh with large dots, making it both practical and alluring.
The unusual Art Deco print in lilac and gold of the La Rayonnante collection creates a truly unique design. Its geometric pattern is enhanced by matching block colours of lilac and gold trim both on the padded bra and hipster brief. The bra has a further vintage touch with a deep gold V on the centre band, a detail which Rosy exclusively used in many of their historical ranges.
We know you’ll just love the L’Amour collection! Created in an unusual colour palette of gold satin and overlaid in a purpley brown lace, this really is a unique, yet opulent, combination. Available in a wide range of pieces, including both a padded bra and a plunge bra as well as a tanga, a hipster brief and a shorty brief. Finished with splashes of bright gold satin and every edge is scalloped with lace, this range has a truly luxurious feel.
The L’Exaltante collection is another range that has a very strong vintage influence and I think this is rapidly becoming my most favourite from Rosy. Styled using panels of opaque black, delicate black lace over nude and sheer spot mesh, this oozes Hollywood glamour and of a time long forgotten. Available in a padded bra, a string and hipster brief, as well as a light control high-waisted brief and matching slip which will help you glide effortlessly from day to night.
The L’Honorable collection is classic Rosy. Clearly influenced by previous ranges, such as La Vintage, yet brought up to date, it’s smooth silk is overlaid with contrasting eyelash silk and is trimmed with an oversized bow. Designed in two bold colourways, prune with ivory lace and gold detail and red with ivory lace and detail, it’s available in a padded plunge bra with removable pads, tanga, brief, shorty boxer brief and slip.
So what do you think of Rosy’s new collections? Which ones will be on your wish list?
