London based lingerie brand Playful Promises are celebrating their 10th birthday this year. This is quite a milestone for any company who has fought and survived the recession but what’s even more impressive is the fact that Playful Promises is an indie lingerie brand, which means they design and manufacture everything themselves. Not always something that’s easy in this day and age.
Created by Emma Parker in 2004 after purchasing her very first pair of ‘grown-up’ knickers, Playful Promises produce delicious intimates for women who like to be different, who like to say ‘hey, this is me, take it or leave it’. They’re confident in themselves and love to be daring and sexy but also don’t take themselves too seriously. Each piece is fun, flirty and sometimes just a little bit saucy!
For their 10th anniversary they have just released their Circus Collection, an assortment of beautifully designed pieces with a circus twist. Each unique piece is dark and decadent with a hint of luxury and are reminiscent of the showgirls of the Edwardian travelling cabarets.
The collection features camisole and knicker sets with delicate black eyelash lash trimming, bodysuits in shiny black or gold Lycra, bra and brief sets with peep-hole cut out sections and gold or black fringed harness playsuits with matching open bra and hipster briefs.
Each and every piece has been designed and manufactured right here in the UK with exclusive prints created by London artist Karina Akopyan. The Twisted Circus Print Bra and Briefs feature a quirky print with an assortment of salacious sword swallowers, libertinous lion trainers, kinky clowns and erotic aerialists all on a black stain background.
Unfortunately the entire collection has been made in a very limited edition run, which means that you can only get hold of any of these pieces directly from Playful Promises themselves. However, you can still order their stunning current collection from Fox and Rose. From pink neon lingerie sets overlayed with black eyelash lace to burlesque inspired open cup bras in ruby red or mysterious black, we think you’ll still find something to create your very own circus inspiration at home.
So what do you think of the Circus Collection?
