The hectic pace continues with this years shows, a chance to view what we hope will be a truly fantastic offering. People sometimes ask how we approach our buying and the simple answer is that we have to personally love each piece regardless of its widespread appeal or commerciality. Furthermore pieces that work in a stand-alone boutique won’t necessarily be appropriate for an online store. After all there are so many channels to buying lingerie that we believe that each collection should really say something, reach out to our audience, capture their imagination and instill in them that desire to want to own something truly fabulous.
It’s with this sentiment in mind that we approach the shows, constantly on the look out for that something special, something that will truly leap out from the screen, and personify luxury, personality and the je ne sais quoi that defines Fox & Rose.
As we mentioned the shows have started and this Sunday saw the turn of the Lingerie Collective . The Lingerie Collective organized by the wonderful David Finlayson brings together a selective collective of predominantly British designers. It’s amazing how one can be instantly inspired and buoyed by the sheer magnitude of creative talent out there.
Notable mentions should be given to the work of rising star Nichole de Carle whose fantastic collections are inspired by famous artworks and architecture. It’s easy to understand why the worlds biggest and most luxury online fashion retailer, net-a-porter, commissioned her to design their very own exclusive collection.
Another label that we are very excited to soon be part of is Gilda & Pearl , it’s a label we have been keeping an eagle eye upon and we feel that Diane’s vintage inspired lingerie will sit beautifully on our site. We absolutely adore her amusingly titled ‘How to Marry a Millionaire’ line, after all if this gorgeous set doesn’t bag you a millionaire nothing else will!
It’s always great to catch up with Laura Cloke from ultra hip label Ell & Cee whose Autumn Winter collection delights. Smatterings of hot pinks mixed with black lace and the usual line up of delectable embellished bodysuits and silk rompers define a look that is much beloved by our already burgeoning client base. We are super excited about our forthcoming exclusive collaboration with this label and hope that this will be a partnership that will bring lots of exciting opportunities for the future.
We also got a chance to meet the lovely Fleur of Fleur of England whose eponymous label goes from strength to strength. Celebrating 10 years in the business her extensive lines for this coming Autumn Winter hold something for everyone. We particularly loved the ‘Darling’ line crafted from an ivory silk with black lacework and also the ‘Exquisite’ collection, a no holds barred exploration of sheer luxury and exquisite craftsmanship.
This weekend we hop over on the train to Paris to catch up with all that’s going on at the Salon de Lingerie, where we hope to unearth even more exciting collections.
